Nestlé has announced a voluntary recall of several batches of infant formula in several European countries, including France, after the discovery of a quality issue linked to an ingredient supplied by one of its partners. In France, the affected products belong to the Guigoz and Nidal ranges, which were partially recalled in early December.

New analyses have revealed the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by certain strains of Bacillus cereus, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea. Nestlé states that it has checked all potentially implicated arachidonic acid oils and affirms that no cases of illness have been reported.

In France, Nestlé is asking consumers not to return the products to stores, but to photograph the boxes to obtain a voucher, and then discard them. If digestive symptoms occur after consumption, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional.
